Why use online registration

Over 95% of our clients request and use our online registration method.  We have continuously shown our clients how beneficial online registration is in terms of time, money and convenience.  Once they use online registration, they never go back to the old days of faxes and over the phone registrations!  Here are some reasons to use our online registration system for your next event:

 

  1. Oftentimes, clients need to limit the number of attendees to an event.  With the old manual method, there was no easy way to track this.  Faxes would still filter in after the event limit had been reached.  Registrants would have to be contacted, only to be told that their registration could not be processed due to event limits.  With online registration however, you can set limits to events, seminars, and workshops.  Once you have reached the limit, a notification will advise potential registrants that registration is full.
  1. With manual registration systems, information may be spread around in different folders, filing systems or different people may have different versions of attendee lists on their computers.  This creates a real potential for inconsistencies and errors.  With online registration systems, all the information is held in one central database that can be accessed by authorized organizers.  Any changes or updates to the system are done automatically and everyone sees the same information.

Most faxes are hand-written and not everyone has the neatest handwriting, especially if they have to fill out several different fax-in registrations.  Deciphering them can lead to errors or wasted time following up with people to try and clear up illegible information.  Responses in online registration are typed in, therefore eliminating these problems.
  1. Online forms can be programmed to total costs and fees associated with each registrant.  You are assured of getting correct totals for every registration instantly and it is very convenient for the participant.

The delegate may only have to enter their name or even phone number, and their permanent information is displayed, allowing for correct contact and other important information.

 

Once you have decided to use online registration for your event, you may wonder how to get your potential delegates to use it.  As we are aware, there are still many people out there who are wary about using online methods to purchase items and/or register for events.  Here are some ideas on how to get people using online registration:

 

1.   At a minimum, participants need to know that the online payment option is secure, that the form is easy to use and will make the process of registration easier and more efficient for all involved.  aNd Logistix provides secure online payments and we have a solid policy about the use of information we collect on your registrants.

 

2.   If you can get away with it, having online registration as the only option would be ideal.  If that’s too great a leap, you can provide a downloadable PDF form for registrants to fill out and fax back.  You should still make it clear in all your promotional materials that online registration is the preferred method.

 

3.   Make the link to the online registration form prominent in all your promotional materials and on your event website.  If you send an invitation or print an ad, make sure your customers’ eyes are drawn to information telling them where to register online.  On your event website, give large, prominent, obvious clues, such as “Click here to register online” in big letters.   

 

4.   Bribery is also a great way to get people to do something!  Offer incentives to customers who use your online registration system.  Offer discounts or random draw prices, available exclusively to online registrants.
