The IDA 89th Annual General Meeting Conference
The IDA 89th Annual General Meeting Conference was held at the majestic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff,
AB this year. Few hotels in the world can rival the scenery and history of the Banff Springs, as our 350
delegates saw for themselves as aNd greeted, registered and settled them. With meetings focusing on China’s
development, and meals flavoured by cultures from every side of the globe, delegates picked up their “Passport
to the World” in one of the most beautiful places in Canada.

NextiraOne Platinum Club Incentive Trip
It was the mighty Zambezi River which led Dr. David Livingstone on his greatest adventure.
In search of a means to access the interior of Africa, Livingstone tagged the Zambezi
"God's highway" to the Indian Ocean and set off down the river, discovering the great
cataract that native Africans called "the smoke that thunders." Livingstone christened
the great waterfall Victoria Falls after his queen. Today, the great gorge has lost none
of its allure, and is still considered one of the great natural wonders of the world.
Victoria Falls was the incredible setting for this year’s NextiraOne Platinum Club Incentive Trip.
Dana welcomed over 100 delegates from 14 different countries. The attendees were amazed
when, while being greeted at the registration desk, as a small herd of zebras leisurely
made their way across the lawn. What a wonderful way to start their adventure!
With the challenge of so many different languages and different time zones, the pre-trip
website was KEY! aNd Logistix developed a comprehensive website that easily distributed
specific information to all the delegates. Everything they needed to know was right
there – from “what to pack” to “visa requirements”. But we never forget the personal touch.
Our helpful staff at the office took emails and phone calls fielding a variety of questions
and requests including special dietary requirements and post trip arrangements.
Being prepared makes everyone more comfortable and allows them to enjoy their special trip.

Investor Town Hall Meeting
The Ontario Securities Commission hosted an Investor Town Hall Meeting at the CBC
Building here in Toronto in June. With over 120
on-site registrants, aNd brought their “Mobile Office”,
getting each and every Investor ready in time for the show to start! With close to 550 total
registrants, there was definitely a lot to be heard as Investors were given the chance to let
off a little steam.

Nextel Government Affairs Summit
Tasha and Shawna got a taste of what life is like in the desert during the summer at the Nextel Government
Affairs Summit in Scottsdale, Arizona. The 110-degree Fahrenheit weather was a shock to their Canadian systems
after the cold winter! Delegates came from all over the United States for the twice yearly meeting, where aNd
registered them pre-conference, checked them in at the conference and showed them Arizona in style, with the
final day included a trip to beautiful Sedona, home of the red rock canyons.

2005 Showcase & Travel Expo
Beatriz and Shawna traveled to Cancun, Mexico for the 2005 Showcase & Travel Expo. They joined 150
other meeting and incentive travel planners to experience the best of Cancun and Xcaret. A consortium
of local hotels, car agencies, theme parks, marinas, restaurants and specialized boutiques that cater
to group business gathered to exhibit their services and wares. They stayed at the Occidental Flamenco
Xcaret, an exciting new hotel outside of Cancun. They had the opportunity to see the local Mexico-themed
show, “Xcaret Nights” and view spectacular wildlife throughout the property. They stayed an additional
2 nights to visit Moon Palace, the biggest property in Cancun. They came back with an extra suitcase
full of information on Cancun and surrounding areas in Mexico!
Shawna participated in the unforgettable “Selvatura” tour, canyoning through the jungle on a zip line,
whizzing through the trees!

Fish & Chip
12 tour operators from across Ontario and Quebec came to visit Mississauga from July 13-15. Shawna organized
the activities, registration and transportation for the participants who were driven around in style in a stretch
SUV. They had the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, from Salmon Fishing where they
caught “Bobby” to gaming at Playdium, to golfing at a new par-three, nine-hole course. After fishing, guests were
treated to a gourmet dessert party on the lawns of the Bradley House museum, compete with a crepe station and jazz trio.

Interested in getting involved? To make sure your donation is used for the purpose you want it to be used
for, here are a few tips for giving wisely:
Decide how you want your money to be used.
If you want to focus on a specific aspect of care, than you will want to give your money to an organization
that specializes in that kind of work.
Look at the lists of relief and response organizations that are available.
Search the web and newspapers for organizations that interest you. Once you pick an organization, research
their work online. If you can’t get enough information, ask people or organizations you trust what their
experience has been with that organization.
Only give to organizations that have a track record.
There are many groups springing up both to help and also to take advantage of this situation. It will be
very difficult to determine if an organization is legitimate if there is no track record to research.
Send a check or money order only.
Always have a paper trail! No matter how legitimate an organization appears to be, having a paper trail is the safest way to go.

The aNd Logistix family just got a bit bigger. But the change wasn’t the result of the acquisition of a new
employee or a new account; it really was a case of the “family getting bigger”.
We sponsored a child.
Like so many people, we were recently moved by the Live 8 concerts and the spirit of generosity that they
rekindled around the world. Moreover, we were moved by the knowledge that the images of hunger that we all
remember from the original Live Aid concert remain all too real twenty years later. We decided that we wanted
to do something philanthropic that would create real and positive change in the life of a child in need.
After significant investigation into a variety of charitable organizations doing important work around the
globe, we decided to commit to making ongoing charitable donations to Plan, one of the world’s largest
international, child-centered development organizations.
Plan works in 45 developing countries where, worldwide, their long-term community programs benefit 1.3
million children. Plan is non-religious, non-political and has no government affiliations. They work by
creating and sustaining effective, long-term community development that addresses health, education,
shelter and livelihood.
In Sir Bob Geldof’s message at the recent Live 8 concerts he concluded that “This is without a doubt
a moment in history where ordinary people can grasp the chance to achieve something truly monumental…”
At aNd Logistix, we believe that every moment is an opportunity to affect positive change – be it
within the context of a client interaction, or in the broader context of our role as corporate citizens.
