Staffing a Registration Desk isn’t always this glamorous! Dana suffered through sun and sea breezes to welcome
Platinum Club incentive winners from NextiraOne. Her French and Italian came
in handy when over 150 International delegates and their families descended
on the Fairmont Southhampton Hotel in Bermuda.
“I have always enjoyed meeting delegates from all over the world – especially
the ones that you have corresponded with for months leading up to the
program”, Dana tells us, along with the fact that she has received some funny
requests over the years and even helped one young couple plan a post incentive
trip wedding ceremony on the beach.
Italian delegates adopted Dana for a few days!

Breaking Records! With over 420 attendees, this year’s
CAGP*ACPDP 11th Annual National Conference boasts their most attendees
to date! Right here at Toronto’s own Westin Harbour Castle, delegates enjoyed
a selection of 40 educational sessions. aNd is looking forward to helping
CAGP*ACPDP rise above and beyond this year’s conference numbers, at next
year’s conference in beautiful Québec City!

Dana, Cynthia, Linda and Shawna were off to Orlando in June for the NEXTEL
“South Region Prepared” 2004 Public Sector Summit. High humidity and
thunderstorms prevailed as delegates flew in from all over the Southern
US for this 2 day conference at Disney’s Grand Floridian for the Summit.
A high-energy casino night, complete with blackjack, horse racing and Wayne
Newton welcomed attendees to the Grand Floridian Convention Centre.
Participants were given a race card for the “Nextel Downs” and were able to
bet on horses bearing names such as “Is this a Great Company or What?” and
”See Me in My Office”. The conference closed once again, with the
“Political Convention and Dinner”,complete with Uncle Sam to motivate
delegates to increase their sales and dedication for the upcoming year.

Social Dinner Gala at Mont-Tremblant
Beatriz, Julie and Tasha traveled to the majestic Fairmont Mont-Tremblant, home to the IDA’s
88th Annual General Meeting and Conference. Beatriz was top dog with both sponsors and speakers,
ensuring their hotel, exhibit space and A/V requirements were not only met, but exceeded. The aNd
staff, along with the delegates battled through the masses of black flies to finish the conference
off at this year’s gala, sporting obscenely large sunglasses and stylish 70’s era wigs, while dancing
to Local Montreal Band, The Boogey Wonderband.

Toronto’s JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes has found a new home!
The 2004 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Toronto Walk to Cure Diabetes
was held on Sunday, May 30th in North York. For the first time, the
“kick-off” and activities were held in Mel Lastman Square, a fantastic venue
for an event that attracts more participants every year. It is hoped that Mel
Lastman Square will be the permanent venue for the annual Toronto Walk for
many years to come.
The Walk is the fastest growing fundraising event in the history of JDRF and
is the fastest growing walk in the world. Each year, more than 45,000 people
across Canada walk to cure diabetes – including representatives from more than
600 large corporations, local companies and families. Funds are still coming
in for this year’s Toronto Walk to Cure Diabetes and they are tracking towards
$1,000,000 raised by approximately 6,000 participants. This is a fantastic
result made possible by the hard working Walk Team at JDRF, aNd Logistix and
a wonderful group of Volunteers.

Having fun at a custom Team Development Event
These interactive programs focus on holding individuals and teams accountable for
achieving high performance and truly impact productivity. They challenge participants
intellectually and engage them socially and emotionally. It’s all about teaching people
how to maximize results in a way that allows them and others around them to feel great
about how they achieved those results.
They are so engaging and different from other training programs that they often aren’t
recognized as “TRAINING” We work with clients to select or design the program that
addresses the issues that are most important to their particular desired outcomes.
Collaboration and Innovation are key to building bridges –
and building organizations
aNd Logistix has also teamed up with facilitators and keynote speakers from the Institute
for Health and Human Potential. The team at IHHP, including founder JP Pawliw-Fry have
helped our clients with developing and delivering unique training programs in Emotional
Intelligence to Increase Performance and Leadership.
The presence of volunteers is vital to many events. Here at aNd Logistix, we
know how important volunteers are. Here are a few ways to recognize your
volunteers and keep them coming back:
- Free Admission to the event
- Recognition at closing ceremonies
- Windup party for volunteers
- Certificates and/or commemorative medals
