top tip
We wonder if all of our readers
know what the latest travel lingo
really means – "3-1-1 to speed
screening! We at aNd Logistix
are frequent fliers and experts
on how to pack – especially to
meet the "3-1-1".

3 = three oz. containers
1 = one quart
1 = one bag

Travelers are permitted to
carry-on 1 quart-size, clear plastic, zip-top bag holding 3 ounces of liquids or gels, limited to one bag per traveler. Travelers should take their 3-1-1 bag out of their carry on and place separately in a bin. Declare your liquids!

And because we always love to
travel in style, we at aNd Logistix
are sourcing new, modern, and
practical 3-1-1 storage solutions.

Creating Possibilities

Beatriz and Shawna traveled to Seattle in January to attend PCMA's annual conference. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to get to know Seattle as a meeting destination, as well as keep up with our industry continuing education.

An annual topic at the PCMA meeting is “Winds of Change: Five Forces Re-Shaping the Meetings Industry” where top executives from hotel, airline, and cruise lines share the latest macro trends that have the greatest impact on the meetings industry. We feel that attending these types of sessions help us to be informed of changes and what to expect for us and for our clients in the coming year.

We also had the chance to hear Robert Kennedy Jr. speak on our environmental destiny which encouraged us to make our environment a priority. Read more on our Green initiatives in the “Green Meetings” section of this issue.

Not just education, Jason Alexander performed during a luncheon and left us in stitches. He reminded us why we are meeting planners, and how to laugh at ourselves!

Going Green

Reliable Smart Innovative Creative Green.We have decided to do our best to reduce our carbon footprint on our environment. Much of our continuing education this year has been to become knowledgeable in ways big and small, to reduce the impact of meetings on our environment.

Let us give you suggestions on how to become green without sacrificing the quality of your event. A few easy choices that won't cost you anything:

Turn off meeting room lights when the room is not in use
Let attendees pour their own water at seated meals instead of pre-pouring glasses, reducing water consumption
Consider not using saucers at place settings to reduce water usage when washing

We have the latest information on how to bring sustainable food and beverage to your event, while reducing the impact on the environment. Being environmentally conscious can actually reduce costs.

Being green isn't just a trend, it is a choice. We have chosen to try to protect our environment, and to help to educate others to do the same.

Saludos Cordiales!

Shoppoers Drug Mart Puerto Rico Conference teamAfter 18 months of preparation, aNd Logistix travelled with Shoppers Drug Mart to the magnificent island of Puerto Rico for their Annual National Conference. The warm island breeze was a welcoming treat for the 1900 conference delegates who travelled from across Canada to Puerto Rico (a feat in itself!)

From six different hotels, Shoppers Drug Mart delegates gathered daily at the brand new Puerto Rico Convention Centre for presentations, workshops and guest speakers. Delegates were treated to various events planned and organized by aNd such as a beach party at sunset, a private street party at the Paseo La Princesa and an evening in the tropical rainforest of El Yunque.
